Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for the overall financial health and performance of the company. The CFO will provide strategic financial guidance, oversee all financial operations, and ensure the company’s financial stability and growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis:
    • Develop and implement short-term and long-term financial plans and budgets.
    • Conduct financial forecasting and analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and key performance indicator (KPI) tracking.
    • Prepare and present financial reports to the CEO, Board of Directors, and investors.
    • Advise on strategic financial decisions, including mergers and acquisitions, investments, and capital raising.
  • Financial Operations:
    • Oversee all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
    • Manage cash-flow and ensure the company has sufficient liquidity.
    • Oversee treasury functions, including bank relationships, investments, and risk management.
    • Implement and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Investor Relations :
    • Build and maintain relationships with investors and lenders.
    • Prepare materials for investor presentations and roadshows.
    • Manage investor communications and disclosures.
  • Software Industry Expertise:
    • Understand the unique financial challenges and opportunities of the software industry.
    • Have experience with software industry metrics, such as customer lifetime value (CLTV) and recurring revenue.
    • Be able to advise on pricing strategies, revenue recognition, and subscription models.
  • Management & Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
    • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
    • Build strong relationships with other departments within the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • MBA or Master’s in Finance preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in the software industry.
  • Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP).
  • Experience with financial modeling, valuation, and M&A.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
